Has anyone else tried this beer? I had a bottle last week and can honestly say it is the thickest commercial beer I have ever drank...

I thought it was quite good, but I am a little lost on the style. They call it a dark Norse beer, but is that just another term for a Russian Imperial Stout?

I tried it recently as well. I did a couple casual searches (On HBT and the web, I think) and it does seem to be categorized as a RIS.

It is thick, although I can't exactly say where it fits on a scale compared to other beers. The carbonation was quite low, so don't expect any nitro-style head. As far as taste goes, it was extremely smooth for an 11% ABV beer. I enjoy Old Rasputin, but to my mind this had less alcohol burn (with more alcohol). Definitely worth a try if you're into RIS's.
