Alright so has anyone else gotten an odd smell making apple cider when putting in cinnamon and clove in primary?
I know it's not a infection being as I make and sanitize mead the same way and it only happens when using apples

Kinda plastic
Like left a water bottle in a hot car then smell the inside of it plastic

I'm using the same yeast, water source, cinnamon/cloves, and same sanitation as with my meads
2nd time this has happened
1st time ok I fkd up and got an infection somehow but this is time number 2 and it has only happened when using apple so I'm at a loss as to why
Is the apples acidity reacting to the clove and cinnamon wrong?

I have not had this exact issue, but the spiced cider I just made ended up quite unpleasant and I used spices in the primary. Thinking that I should have waited till secondary to add them.
