Aaron Hernandez had one of the most advanced cases of CTE for a player his age. Family is suing NFL and Patriots

Yeah, saw that. I'm sure it all happened in the 3 years he played pro football. I get the suit, Hail Mary and all, but really? He murdered dudes cause he's a murderer, not because of CTE. I feel for the family, they didn't sign up for that, but really the Pats and NFLs fault?

Definitely not the NFL's fault. But I think there is probable cause that the pats locker room environment is the root cause of his transgressions.

Unbelievable. You guys won't take responsibility for anything...

He is a murderer but there is evidence that CTE can affect the frontal neocortex and alter personality. Ive seen a few of my fellow colleagues in the military that have severe personality change and find out there is CTE.

I don't think the Patriots should be liable for this nor the NFL, there is something quite obvious that running full speed into other dudes and having forces exerted on the body on the same level as a car wreck, multiple times a game throughout the majority of a persons life . . . its sort of clear you are not going to walk away without paying a price. What, the injury rate in the NFL is 100% or close to that? Isn't the compensation worth it . . . or maybe these guys should negotiate more or realize if they don't do it, there will be others that will understand the risks and do it for less.

Its like the helmets only reinforce this. This is what is brought up in UFC, go gloveless and see how willing people are going to be to make that punch. The feet aren't padded and cracking somebody in the shin will make you pick shots better. Maybe no helmets in football?

I'm sorry to hear about your loss, as CTE can only be evaluated post Mortem. The point these *****ebags are not getting is that CTE is cumulative. It take time to present. Aaron had some sociopathic tendencies before he got to the NFL. Not sure if that was from brain injury or not, but no court is going to rule against the NFL and Pats in this regard.
Again, sorry for the loss of your military buddies.

Appreciate that. The suicide rate among veterans is high, perhaps the highest of any category or demographic and unfortunately that is what led to the postmortem diagnoses in both cases. The personality changes were something that I did not witness first hand, however it was related to me that the changes were so eventually severe there was a divorce, adultery, solicitation of prostitute (that turned out to be an undercover LEO), drug use, etc. Not midlife crisis, not PTSD (that has distinctly different symptoms), but just bizarre personality issues.

Well, we all have our pathologies, some people recognize them, confront them and wrestle with them, but not everyone will do so. I don't know much about Hernandez's background, mostly about his antics and crimes that occurred post conviction and sentencing. Bizarre.

It is interesting that Arian Foster recognized his body would not last and bailed out. He is quite adamant his children will not play football. Foster was on a Rogan podcast (another Bostonian) and reasoned that his children didn't need to sacrifice their body in football in exchange for money that he had already sacrificed his body for . . .

Congrats to the 49ers for finally scoring a touchdown this season. Im sure the 300 people in attendance are thrilled the 49ers finally took enough time from their SJW careers to practice a few plays so a TD could be notched.

(any 49ers fans here?)

You also never hear anyone talk about the crap these guys pump into their bodies. I mean youre artificially amping up your body growth and testosterone. Then you cut off the adrenaline rush of the drugs and playing? Add that onto with CTE?

Maybe it was all the cheating he had to do in his time with the pats? We cant rule that out either.

From what I understand the correlation between test/steroids and "roid rage" is pretty weak. High test may compound a preexisting condition in a small population of users. Likewise, low test is perhaps a more serious issue and it isn't limited to the aging demographic.

IMHO it would be best if PED usage was allowed, but under strict care of an endocrinologist and other specialists in human bioenergetics and exercise/strength/conditioning. Steroids, generally, are compounds that aid in muscle recovery. It shortens the time between workouts without risking going catabolic (this is simplified), so the athlete can exert more force on the muscle in less time than an athlete not on gear. At the right dose, monitored, this could be a tremendous asset. Should be descheduled, too.

Well that's what I mean by crap. I believe in roid rage. I knew a couple of people at the national level of a sport that was non contact. Altho you could probably convince me one was a sociopath without the crap.

If you think Seattle's offensive problems has any to do with their QB than you're more retarded than that fvcktard moto.

I guess Goff can't take all the credit. It's not like he scored ALL the points himself. It takes even a mildly competent GM to surround that QB with some protection and weapons.... and the Rams obviously have even a mildly competent GM.

You can tell.

This is actually a pretty cool stat.

Think about it.... if Manning and Brady both started as starting QBs on the same day... and neither ever missed a game, they would each reach 300 tds within a half a game. 15 pass attempts? That's a half.

Aaron Rodgers: bruuuutally overrated.
