Was Baker Mayfield even slumping that bad when they decided to pursue Watson?
If I remember correctly he had lost the room and there was drama. He had an abrupt reality check getting shipped off and struggling in other cities. He has probably grown as person and is better for it.
Why Cleveland went for Watson will be a question that can only be answered by the ownership.
Fun fact: the punter has kicked for more yardage this year than Watson has thrown for since he joined the team.

Like I said, makes the Bears look pretty competent.

A good day for 'Murrica ;)

Jeeze, Cowboys totally got pillaged by Eggles today. Hope they're released from the ER soon

btw, we Patriots fans are looking at years before they're competitive again - if ever - so we're in worse shape than pretty much anyone. Gotta get our schadenfreude where we can to compensate

Well that's weird, since Cape believed that the memory of Brady would haunt the league for years in New Englands favor.

The aura of Brady's pure awesomeness will linger for decades after he's gone, propelling the Pats to several more SB wins....

His spectre does still haunt us from the broadcast booth.

Didn't that game start a little later than the other late afternoon game? Maybe they just can't perform in front of a crowd and could sense everyone tuning in after the browns game?

In all seriousness I do hope that Wisco's J Lo is ok and feels good enough that green bay puts up some fight, keeps things interesting before their game in Philly gets out of hand in the last 10 minutes or so when Philly realizes that they don't suck so bad that they should lose to green bay.

Really weird how close some of these games were. Washington nearly lost to Dallas, the Buccaneers only won by 8 against the lowly ain'ts, and it looks like Carolina eeked out a win against Atlanta in OT. I suppose we can throw in the Pittsburgh - Cincinnati game, too.

Funniest moment of the Bears @ Packers game was at the end, when the announcer (was it Olsen? dunno, i was drinking) states:

Bears fans are probably wondering "how do you think they will screw this up"?

And then the bears immediately fumble and lose the ball.

Best moment of the Bears @ Packers game: Bears win ANYWAYS!!!

I don't actually like the bears, but this minnesotan hates those damned packers! 🤣

It's weird, because Goff kinda looks like he had a meh game anyway. His completion percentage was nothing to complain about, but 230 yards, one TD, two picks? That doesn't scream MVP to me. I didn't see any of the game or hear commentary, but it kinda looks like the bright spot on the lions offense was their RBs.

For as much talk as there has been about Darnold earning himself a fat contract this off-season... woof. Dude didn't even complete half his passes. Gunna be hard to sell that to a fan base.

Idk, the Vikings look like a team that'll bounce out of the playoffs in round one, and Detroit looks like a team that is overconfident and will ride that through one round before they come back to reality.

Back in the late 70s the Cowboys won a Superb Owl which apparently earned them the nickname "America's Team". They didn't win another for 15 years and were basically harmless. But then Jerry bought the team in the 90s, the team won a handful of Superb Owls which of course caused everyone else in the league to hate them, way before McCarthy came on board.

As long as Jones is still there, whenever the Cowboys lose it's a good day for America.

They didn't even get past Washington. I thought Philly was going to knock them off, but they couldn't even get past Washington.

The team that got superb owl wins with Trent Dilfer and Joe Flacco is wasting another season of Lamar Jackson, who I am told is a talented quarterback and not just a game manager.

Jackson is an amazing athlete and a good quarterback. He's the reason the Ravens got this far this year, and I wanted them to upset Buffalo and move on. But a few critical mistakes and they're heading to the links...
