==========================================

Rich in color and flavor, this medium bodied hoppy ale uses Maris
Otter for its base and gets its deep amber color from a mix of crystal
malts, plus a touch of Carafa II. Malt sweetness is balance well by
firm bitterness from the early Simcoe and Summit additions making this
beer very easy to enjoy. Humpday Double Red is generously hopped
throughout the boil and finished with Simcoe, Summit and Centennial to
give this beer an amazing flavor and aroma. As with all OBC brews,
this beer is great with many things, especially a glass.

OG: 18.43p
ABV: 8.1%
SRM: 18.1
IBU: 91

Celebrate St. Patrick's Day a day early on and with Humpday!

For those of you who aren't familiar with the Green Dragon Project the information below will help:

What:

The Green Dragon Project is a joint venture between the Green Dragon Bistro & Brewpub and the Oregon Brew Crew where members of the OBC have the opportunity to brew beer on the Green Dragon’s nano brewing system. The Green Dragon Project Committee, within the OBC, is tasked with running and maintaining the project along with determining any operating rules and procedures.

Why:

The Green Dragon Project is a unique opportunity for club members to help design a recipe that will be brewed at the Green Dragon. Emphasis will be placed on educational aspects of recipe formulation, all-grain brewing techniques, quality control, and marketability. In addition, we hope to further improve the link between commercial craft breweries, their patrons, and the home brewing community through the production of unique beer styles and ‘meet the brewer’ type events that promote the Oregon Brew Crew and the Green Dragon.

How:

Brewing slots are filled by the winner of the club’s monthly home brew competitions and the Home Brewer of the Year winner. Other slots will be filled from members who have volunteered for selected club events such as potlucks and local beer festivals. Remaining slots are filled at the discretion of the GDC.

I hope you all can make it. See you Wednesday!

Cheers!

Rick
