I am going to make a partail mash oatmeal stout for my wife... she loved the brewers best oatmeal stout . Ive made it a couple of times. My LHBS has raised his prices on the kits as of late so i was looking to create one that was similar..
anyone know any good recipe's?

I was thinking something like

5 gal batch
extract
3.3 lbs dark extract
3.3 lbs light

grain
1.5lbs flaked oats
1lb crystal 60
.5 lb black malt
.5 lb chocolate

hops
2 oz fuggle 60 mins

yeast
saf 04

Let me know your thoughts or if you have something that would be right up my ally.

you'll need to sub some of your extract for a base malt to get the oats to convert.

Do you have the information from the Brewers best kit? I bet you could put together the same ingredients for the same or close to it, as you were paying before.
