i just brewed a patch of pumpkin spice porter and my O G was not as high as the OG on the instruction sheet. mine was 1.052 and the and was suppose to start at 1.057 to 1.062 it is already in the second fermentation carboy... Can I add some honey now to boost it or just not worry about it right now the hydrometer is reading 1.020 or there abouts and it's been fermenting for 3.5 days

DO NOT try to "fix' it now. If the gravity is 1.020, then it is almost finished. Let it finish, bottle it, then move on to the next brew. I do not suggest making changes to a beer after it is in the fermenter.

Did you do a partial boil with top up water afterwards? If so, the OG wasn't off, the reading was because of the top up water not mixing all the way in, happens all the time and fermentation will mix it for you, no worries.
