There do seem to be plenty of Oregonians here; I think Oregon has a healthy respect for good beer.

I spent a week in Portland a couple of years ago and really loved it. Replaced Chicago as my Favorite City In America.

MMMMM Beer goooood

There's plenty of us here because we get so spoiled by good micros, get sick of paying out the nose for em - or figure maybe we can do better....

There is a lot of good beer throughout the country. But California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and BC have something special going on. We've got the hops fields, the only maltster (I know of anyway) on the West Coast, good 2-row barley (from Canada mostly), great water and now with Wyeast labs access to great yeasts. All of that has engendered a knowledgeable beer drinking public. The beer festivals seem to be endless and diversity of beer extraordinary. What a time for a beer drinker to be in the PNW.
