Want to make a pumpkin ale this fall. It will be all grain and it will be a 3 gallon test batch. I have had a few micro pumpkins and am not fond of the spice content. I think I could do without the nutmeg and pumpkin pie spice. Will this just make a pumpkin tasting ale. Has anyone every tried this or maybe just a hint of spice. All input appreciated.:)

I have not made one, but Starr Hill's Boxcar is a pumpkin porter that isn't overly sweet or spicy. It is super drinkable. So I say go for it; as much as I like the traditional pumpkin ales, I think I like the dry, mild Boxcar better.
