So being as I am still new to brewing (just over a year into it). After many recipe kits (and many compliments) I decided to try my own recipe. I am still mostly an extract brewer but definately use specialty grains for steeping. The recipe goes like this here. Thanks for your thoughts!

2.5 gallon boil
5 gal batch
3.3 lbs muntons light LME
2lbs wheat DME
1 lbs honey malt
.5 lbs carapils (dextrin)
1oz. Tettnang 60 min
.5oz Tettnang 20 min
.5oz Tettnang 15 min
.5oz Tettnang 10 min
.5oz Tettnang 5 min

Looks like some kind of honey wheat. Should be an easy drinker. What yeast did you use, may make a difference?

Oh sorry used Nottingham. Supposed to be very neutral and let a lot of the malt and hops character come forward. Thinking from other posts on HBT may have used too much honey malt.

Grand Ledge? Don't suppose you like a certain color salamander?

Red perhaps! Im about 2 minutes from the shop :rockin:

Not sure about your honey malt question, I'm guessing it will be OK in a 5 gal batch. You will notice it for sure though!

Nice! Friend of mine damn near lives across the street from the salamander. Always have him pick up used equipment for me there! Thanks for the vote of confidence. Nice to see some michigan reps on here.
