Ok, so I'm thinking about my next beer (which would make my second batch). I would like either something dark or something pretty hoppy (not enamal removing but a decent amount). I don't want to do pure extract but I don't have the equipment for sparging (nor the money). suggestions?

This one in the fermentor now is a Sierra Nevada (MWS) clone which was grain and extract. So i can do partial grains. I don't think I have the patience (or a secondary fermentor) for an IPA.

You can dry hop in your primary.
BYO has a great clone of Black Butte Porter if that is your thing.

I'm looking at this honey porter or Nut Brown from midwest. I had a Southern Pecan from Lazy Magnolia the other day that just ****ed my world up, I gotta have more.

How about a Cascadian dark ale (black IPA) or an indian brown ale then? Knocks out both dark and hoppy at the same time.

only really need a secondary if you are fermenting long periods (>1 month)
