I'm new to the whole homebrewing thing. I jumped in with both feet and picked up a couple corney kegs off CL for my first batches. Noticing that our "extra" basement fridge is now full of kegs and CO2, it may be time to start looking at a keezer build to free up that "pop/wine fridge".
Anyway... The question I have revolves around the fact that I am the only beer drinker in the house. If I build a 4-keg keezer (for variety) how good are the tap handles at not getting "skunky" when not used? (I get it that it may be best to buy the best taps one can find....Perlicks?) If I have a 4 keg set up (might as well, the 7.0 freezers are nearly the same price as the 5.0s) will the less-used taps get moldy or otherwise go bad?
I don't plan on building a tower, just a collar, so no beer lines to get warm. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.
