I'm going for some big ones:

No alcohol for one month.
No porn for one month.

Anyone else have any resolutions?

no alcohol AND no porn?? you're a braver man than I :D

not really into the whole resolution thing, although there will be some changes here at werk so we can "start fresh" with good policies for the new year.

we also had a pre-new years competition to see who could lose the most weight. i'm in the lead at 12 lbs so far...we weigh back in dec. 31st.

I always said I would never do what Cheese would do, so I guess I don't have to give up alcohol or porn.

But seriously, staying away from the tobacco addiction all year. That's my resolution, I already have a month and a half head start.

Is that the same month?

I resolve to make Valerie Bertinelli wake up on New Years Day and think about her weight.

I want her to be the perfect Kristie Allie killing machine.

I resolve to not wait 6 months to hit the 200 gallon mark.....tired of being a slacker

I have some big steps planned in my life next year, so I don't think the stress of a lifestyle change resolution would be good. I'm planning on getting into Grad School in the summer OR getting a job that starts me at 50K+ and buying a house. So I guess that's a resolution in someway, but more of a goal than anything.

EDIT: Oh, I should be completely out of debt by March if I keep up my pace I'm at right now. That's kind of a resolution too I guess.

I resolve to:

Once I get settled into my house to brew like BierMuncher. BTW I have a sweet garage/shop behind the house perfect for brewing!

I make the same resolution every year and that is to lose weigh and improve my overall fitness. Now that I am getting near the maximum body fat limit imposed by my job, I really need to get serious.

Getting that initial start is the most difficult part of the whole process. Plus I want to be able to do it in a way that doesn't impact my drinking of beer.

  • Put together the kegerator.
  • Get disciplined WRT my yeast harvesting operation.
  • Turn off the Aquos every once in awhile and get back to reading.
  • Stop resolving to do things just because the calendar year turns over...

Everything I'd like to change in my life requires the cooperation of at least one other person, so none for me this year.

[Not that I ever make any.]

I don't do resolutions. Good thing, too. My two major vices are being on the internet too much, and drinking too much beer. I really don't want to give up either vice since I like them.

But good for you Cheese!

+1 more. I always found the whole concept a little silly

+2 ...the only reason I plan to hit the gym is because I can't get out as much in this weather. Once the warmer weather comes back, my gym membership will go back to being a monthly donation to the YMCA...

I don't do resolutions either but if I'm going to pick one its going to be relax @ work more. 07 was (is) not fun and made me go on blood pressure meds and do an ER visit last month!!

Type A is a disease .

I try to fix the problems when they happen instead of waiting untill the end of the year to say that i am going ot change something.

But in the spirit of the thread, mine would be to not strangle myself or anyone else next year. It's going to be a rough one and I will be turning to you all for support i am sure (thats a scary thought). SWMBO will be in Iraq next year and I will be single parenting it up with Cameron, who will be two in Febuary, great time to leave mom! :D

Cheers

Not really NY's resolutions b/c I'd been planning them for awhile. It's just that now happens to coincide with when I'll finally be able to make the time for them.

1. Finish my keezer project.
2. Get to the gym now that it's too cold to go on my walks outdoors.
3. Get all our wedding plans, down to the last detail, done by March 1st.
4. Find a new house.
5. Brew at least twice a month; no excuses!

on new years day I will be tobacco free for one full year. This year I am going to treat my body a little better. I would like to drop 20 lbs and keep it off for good.

So I'm going to scale back a bit on the beer and good food. And try and exercise a bit more.

new years resolutions are a crock... perfect excuse to put something off for another day.

If you have goals that you can work on today, do yourself a favor and start today. Waiting two weeks for some "magical day" is called letting yourself down and breeds further procrastination.

Congrats.
I want you to know I've been rooting for you on that one!

hey thanks man. the first 3 months were hard as anything Ive ever done before. Now it's just smooth sailing.

I guess it wasn't as much as a resolution as it was just the day I had set months prior as my last day to smoke.
