Ok...I spent 6 months building an electric system and made the conversion from mini mash kits to all grain. First batch total flop....tossed. Second batch went better and it is in the fermentor. Tasted wort before pitch and it was pungent tasting. Just tasted three days into fermentation (chugging away) and there is a taste of cardboard and paper with a corn smell. This is a Belgian ale style with a liquid Belgian ale yeast. Mash was rims at about 153 (working on dialing it in with bcs system) and boil was 60 minutes. I have a plate chiller and did a recycling chill and then to fermentor when I hit 70 degrees. What is wrong and can this be saved? A pic of the system is included for your viewing pleasure.
Thanks for any help.
