I have some hops left over from the last few batches I've done, so I thought I would use them in a recipe that I made up while playing around on Brewsmith. I would greatly appreciate any comments as to what you think this may taste like. If you have a better suggestion for a recipe that I can use these hops with I am all ears. I am flexible on the yeast and the grains.
This will be an all grain batch that I will use a yeast starter with.
OG - 1.059 (estimated)
FG - 1.014
IBU - 35.2
SRM - 13.4
8.00 lb Pale Malt (2 Row) US (2.0 SRM) Grain 72.73 %
1.00 lb Amber Malt (22.0 SRM) Grain 9.09 %
1.00 lb Caramel/Crystal Malt - 60L (60.0 SRM) Grain 9.09 %
1.00 lb Victory Malt (25.0 SRM) Grain 9.09 %
0.50 oz Cascade [7.40 %] (60 min) Hops 12.7 IBU
0.50 oz Tettnang [3.50 %] (60 min) Hops 6.0 IBU
0.50 oz Cascade [7.40 %] (30 min) Hops 9.7 IBU
0.50 oz Pearle [8.00 %] (15 min) Hops 6.8 IBU
1.00 tsp Irish Moss (Boil 10.0 min) Misc
1 Pkgs American Ale (Wyeast Labs #1056) [Starter 125 ml] Yeast-Ale
Will this taste like crap or will it be beer worth drinking?
