Hey all, been lurking for awhile here gathering all the info I can.
I guess it's time to try and brew some beer after drinking it for over 40 yrs
I'm in North Jersey, and I really couldn't find any local brewshops to check to get started.
So going on all the usual sites I have it down to I think 2 choices. I want to have a carboy for fermentation, only really because I like the idea of actually being able to see the process.
First one is from Northern Brewer, the Better Basic Starter Kit:

This one is 120.00$ and 8.00$ shipping.
The other one is from More Beer and is the Personal Home Brewery #2 - Deluxe

This one is 109.00$ and no shipping charges.
This one actually looks like it includes more equipment and has a bottle of Star San Sanitizer (4oz)
After doing searches I don't really see More Beer mentioned a lot for the brewing kits.
I plan on doing extract brewing for a while and will do an Ale for my first brew.
Any input appreciated, and I'm sure I'll have many more questions which I will try and put in the proper forum :cross:

Hi Tech! Both kits look good. The Northern kit comes with an autosiphon which is one of my favorite gadgets.

Start buying pop-top bottles so you don't have to buy them when you go to bottle that goodness.....
So far as the glass carboy good choice so you can see the yeasties at work...
