I have a smaller, older kegerator that I'm in the middle of "refreshing". I haven't used the kegerator for draught beer in 2+ years....it's only used to house my bottled beer now.

The exterior is a dark brown and there is some surface rust on the top where the faucet had previously dripped (without a drip tray). The interior is only large enough to fit one corney keg (plus I'll have room for bottles and other misc). The tower is an older 2.5" chromed unit that's bolted to the top.

Just swapped out my 5 lb CO2 tank for a hydrotested and filled 5 lb tank (with a new valve). Planning to replace the O-ring for the regulator and just test/tune and reuse it.

Just ordered a Perlick faucet and new shank elbow.

Already have my new hose and pin connectors.
I also have a corney keg waiting to be cleaned at my buddies house.

Once my faucet and shank are delivered, I'm basically ready to go.

Option #1 is that I continue with the current kegerator.

Option #2 is that I pickup a full size refridgerator/freezer and build one from scratch. I have one at work (~10 years old Kenmore - traditional style with freezer over fridge, white and in good shape) that I could pickup pretty cheap. I'd need a new/different shank and a drip tray, but I'd have all the room for growth if I wanted to add additional taps.

Option #3 is that I look for a smaller chest freezer and add a collar.

Long term, I would like 2-4 beers on tap at any given time so obviously I'd outgrow my current setup, but being that I don't have any brewing equipment at the moment (used a buddies equipment for my first homebrew) and I don't have a lot of disposable income at the moment to spend on this addiction, what would you do?

#1, acquire my brewing equipment over the next couple of months, then eventually build #2 or #3?
