About a month ago, I picked up about 6 cases of butterscotch rootbeer from the brewer. This stuff is great. Downside is that it's a 2 hour drive each way to his place.
It comes in glass bottles, and I will soon be looking at a bunch of empty bottles and no rootbeer.

There seems to be a lot of contention as to whether homemade rootbeer should be in glass bottles or not. One thread talked about soda bottles being stronger than beer bottles because of the pressure produced.

So if I try making my own butterscotch rootbeer, I should be OK if I use these bottles?

Don't use too much yeast.

I've bottled quite a bit of rootbeer in glass bottles. You have to watch the amount of yeast. It has to stall out and not eat all of the sugar so the soda stays sweet and the bottles don't over-pressure.

Look in the threads at the bottom of this page for more info.
