Hello all! I am looking to get into this home brewing, I am very interested in getting something set up, however I have a few basic concerns that I wanted to try and get answered...Most people to the north may have more suitable conditions in their basements to store the beer while it has to settle for several days. However, down here I will be working for the most part in my garage - while I will have an air conditioner running while I am out there working - is there an issue with having the mash and beer settling in 90-100+ degree weather with about 95%+ relative humidity? (sounds like awesome weather i know)

Any helpful tips and advice that anyone can provide for the new guy I am open to any and all suggestions!

Thanks everyone!

Welcome!!

After the boil is complete you need to get the temp down before pitching your yeast. Then you want keep the temp constant while fermenting. Each style of beer and yeast is different. You might want to invest in a fridge or freezer and regulate the temp by using a digital temp control unit. Based on your temps that you mentioned, it would be way to hot to ferment.

Thanks for the reply! I was wandering around here last night and found a home made fridge assembly made of rigid insulation and controlling temps using ice etc... i might be more inclined to try that out before I go pick up a fridge.. The more I saw yesterday it became very apparent that temperature control is very much necessary.
I have met several people that home brew and I always found it very interesting, trying to get myself into it too!
