I'm going to brew another ale. I'm going with some lighter colors. here's the set up. Let me know what ya think


1 lb Pale malt 2-row steep grains 20 mins 155-165
.5 lbDextrine (Carapils)
6.6 lb Pilsen light LME
1 oz mt.hood 60
1oz cascade 30min
1oz cascade 5 min
White Labs yeast American Ale blend WLP060

I'm thinkin Primaray for 10 days and secondary 10 days room temp

Because 2-row is a base malt which needs to be mashed. You are already using LME which is mostly just base malt. Even if you did mash that 1 lb, you'll be adding almost nothing to the beer.

I think what you meant to put on there is caramel malt. Something like Crystal/caramel 20 or 40 at 0.5 lb is probably what you want.

It depends on what temp you steep it at and how long. 20 min at 160F and it will be mostly converted. I don't think 1 lb will add a whole lot to a beer but feel free to experiment and see.
