Hi guys. Excellent forum. I've been reading and getting info. for a couple of years and finally took the plunge.

I'm just about ready to keg a coopers pilsner. Figured I go with the keg instead of bottling. I went to my local brewers shop and got a keg. What kind of keg is this? I looked all over on the internet and could not find one similar.

Also, I opened it up to clean it. Saw that there was another O ring at the bottom of the dip tube. The dip tube was actually resting on top of it. Securing the O ring in place. Should that even be there?

thanks. So, the keg is a Spartanburg Challenger VI keg? I see on the lid it says canada patent.

I actually have 2 lid o-rings. One was on the lid itself. The other is the one that was at the bottom of the keg.

What are the manufacturers markings? I have three like this, all Pepsi, two made by Corny and the other Firestone.

Hey FireBrew63, that link you gave had a different keg. I looked on the site you linked and found one that looks exactly like mine.

Just looking to know what brand it is. I see on the bottom of the keg it says The Cornelius Co.
Inside the keg it says Casco Bottling Company Portland Maine.

Ok..one more question. I previously bought a replacement pack of o-rings. How do you get the o-rings off of the Keg Posts?

I can't seem to get anything up underneath the old o-ring to pull it off.

At work I use dental picks to remove o rings. You could use a nail or paperclip. Or you could cut it off.

Thanks for the info. I actually used a precision screwdriver. It worked out great. Talked with the guy at the brew shop. He said the keg could be a Spartanburg Challenger but did not know for sure. So, I'll just let it go. It works.
