I have a jacketed fermenter that has a small leak from the jacket into the fermenter. The manufacturer is willing to pay someone locally (Dallas, TX area) to fix this.

According to the manufacturer, the pin hole will have to be TIG welded at a low amperage, sanded leaving a hump and then polished.

I don't know anyone in this business and am looking for someone. Any suggestions?

Thank you.

If it's just a pin hole I would silver solder it. Check out the soldering thread. It's considered sanitary, and is used in the dairy industry so I would think it should be fine for your application.

Thanks for the suggestion, I hadn't thought of it, but then again, I'm letting the manufacturer deal with it mostly. We just having problems finding a welder who will also do the polishing.

Thanks again.
