Hey I am in the process of making my own stir plate for yeast starters.

I am using a 2L E.Flask, egg shaped stir bar, and I rigged up a small DC motor to spin a thin metal plate (which I used to center my magnets with out needing glue), and a variable voltage DC power supply.

Below is a video of my rig, the numbers being counted are the DC supply voltage to my motor. at about 12V and above the cyclone goes all the way to the bottom of my flask and create noise and turbulence. Is this what I want or do I want it just to be a gentle stir?

can any one chime in about the turbulence if it is wanted, or if a gentle cyclone is best?
