I just put a Bud Clone in primary. The S.G. was 1.048
According to the cook sheet it should have a S.G. of
1.038-1.040

Should I worry.

I did add about 6 oz of honey to the boil. Could that change it.

The recipe was a bud clone from Midwest.

Is midwest a good supllier or are there better?

partial boil, that you topped off with more water?
if so, you just didn't get it mixed well enough, so you're getting an inaccurate reading.
6oz of honey in 5 gallons might give you 1 more point. Just assume you nailed the OG listed in the recipe since you can't really miss it with an extract kit unless you use the wrong volume of water.
