Saturday was my first brew day. I cooked up a batch of Irish Red Ale that came with my NB beginner brew kit. All went well. The only change I made was using a fresh packet of Safale S-04 instead of the yeast that NB sent with the recipe kit.

It only took about 4 hours for it to start bubbling after pitching the yeast. After 24 hours, it's bubbling about once a second and a nice krausen has formed. See the pic.

I'm hooked. I've already ordered my second extract recipe kit; a Petite Saison d'Ete.

Cheers !

Nice! I am fairly new at this as well. I have been brewing about three months. Best piece of advice I have learned is "good things come to those who wait". Patience is everything in brewing!
