After I clogged up my voile bags as hopsocks, I bought 10 cheap muslin bags on Amazon as throwaway hopsocks. The bags are the type typically used for specialty grains in extract kits.

Has anyone else done this?

I use those every time right now. Can get expensive over time, and in IPA brews, will likely upgrade to a more reusable system in the future.

Tried it today.
The muslin held about 50% of the gunk.
4oz of hops left a softball sized was in the bag

Go to Lowe's or Home Depot and get 1gallon paint strainer bags. They are cheap, the weave is much tighter than muslin and they can be used over and over.
