Has anyone used mulling spices in their secondary for making hard cider? I have been pondering this for some time and getting ready to try it. Brew up a batch of hard cider, rack it into a secondary, add a bag of mulling spices and let it sit for a couple of weeks.

Thoughts?

I've done a few spiced ciders and beers. I make a tincture by soaking spices, peppers, etc. in vodka for a week or so while my beverage is in the fermenter. When it's time to package, I strain the tincture then add it to the bottling bucket a little at time until I get the flavor I want. This gives me control of the flavor, heat, etc. and eliminates the need for a secondary. Of course, I never use a secondary anyway. Good luck!🍻
