Hey everyone. I tried getting some answers on the extract section, but I may have made my question too convoluted when I first posted.

In short, what I'm wondering is what would be a proper equivalent of Mr. Beer's liquid extract to DME?

I want to double a Mr. Beer recipe, but use the DME I have at hand instead of ordering more LME cans. The recipe is "King's Nectar" and uses:

1 Can High Country Canadian Draft HME
1 Can Pale Export UME

Would 1lb Amber Malt Extract and 1lb Light Malt Extract sufficiently substitute for buying more LME? I know I need to factor in extra hops, but I'm mostly concerned with not ending up with a watery beer.

Thanks!

Sounds like that should be about right. Add some hops and look at some steeping grains... and you'll be really impressed how much better it gets.

There is a HUGE Mr. Beer thread at the top of this forum..... has loads and loads of info.
