I had some leftover mr. beer IPA extract that I threw together last week.

I was wondering if there is anything besides hops that I could throw in the secondary to give it some nice/fun/smooth flavors?

Any suggestions or fun experiences?

Thanks

Bump...

Any other thoughts?

I've seen some posts about grapefruit zest. Although widmer just did a grapefruit IPA, that I thought was a little too tart.

Or anyone second the oak idea for an IPA?

Am I in the right forum? Mods?

Maybe there's already a thread(s) on this subject that some could link?

Hops in the secondary really won't do much for flavor - more for aroma. For the oak you should soak it in vodka for a few days before you throw it in.

Thank you! What does the oak/vodka do to the flavor?
