I have a batch of mead I've had aging for about 5 or 6 months now - just getting to the point of ready to bottle it.
I looked in at it tonight and saw what appeared to be a mold or pellicle. No funny colors, just white. I tossed in a campden tab, and shook it up.
I'm planning on bottling (still) as soon as it settles back down.
I should be OK, right?
This was about 1.5 gallons, 1 gallon in one jug, and the remaining half in another.
It was the bigger bottle that had something going on.

What does it taste like? That will be your answer.

It sounds like a pellicle ... But you need to know the difference because mold is dangerous to your health and a pellicle is not.
