MLT braid questions...

I recently made a MLT with a SS braid but I'm concerned that the braid is too narrow in diameter now. If I remember correctly it's a 3/8" braid. Is there any reason why a narrower diameter braid (a 3/8" vs. a 1/2") would negatively effect the performance or effeciency of the MLT? I haven't brewed with it yet, BTW.

You'll be fine as long as you don't smash it with your mash paddle.
