So I had never heard of Founder's Rubaeus nor had I drank it, but the guy at the store gave me a small hit off the tap. It was flavorful, but overly sweet, which I do not care for. I got a growler of Founder's Breakfast Stout instead, when he had the idea of mixing the two.
We tried it there in the store and it was still sweet, but not cloyingly so. I got a growler of that as well. The two play nicely in the glass, but I had the WORST hangover of my life the day after. I felt like someone bludgeoned my head with a sledgehammer...
Think choc covered raspberries....
I may try and make something similar, only less sweeter...
