Hello all,

I'm about 5 days into primary fermentation on my first batch ever. I haven't seen any bubbles in the air lock since the end of day one and I was just curious if maybe I should stir up the brew in case the yeast has settled... or is this a bad idea?

Thanks, Nick

RDWHAHB. Leave the beer alone. You'll only do harm. If there was airlock activity at some point, your beer is fermenting. Even if there isn't airlock activity, it's possible for your beer to ferment just fine (some fermenters aren't perfectly airtight).

Leave it alone...except to take a hydrometer reading 3 or 4 days from now...airlock activity or lack of is not a good indicator of fermentation, your hydrometer is the only way to tell...
