Minimum Drop for March Pump?

What should be the minimum drop between a keggle and a March pump? Is 18" enough?

I had one work at a 6" drop. 18" is good.

mine are about 12" from the bottom of the kettles, no priming issues thus far!

I often attach mine directly to the valve on my keggle when recirculating while chilling. I just lower the output hose a bit lower than the pump until primed, then put it in the top of the keggle. Works fine.

However, I plan on mounting it about 12" lower when I get my stand up and running.
