Been using my fermentor for a while now, still happy with it. (A good thing.) All summer long I could keep the temps I needed for cooling and heating. I have even used it for bottle conditioning when the house started to cool down too much in the fall.
Just learned a new thing this week, thought I would add it. In winter, the garage is well into the low 50's and I found that my lower chamber won't get up over 65F buy itself. The lower chamber is my 'cool' chamber, but can be used warm with the air reciruc. The little 40w bulb doesn't appear able to heat both sections.
To make a quick mod for this week (I have mead in the bottom and need more heat) I put a seedling mat in there. These mats are sold as 'adding about 10 degrees' and I find they won't heat a chamber on their own. But, I plugged it into the power strip of the fermentor, then the wire just runs in the door. It is kind of pinching in the pink foam, but the door still closes. That got me right up to my 69F for fermenting the meads.
