it's been a long day with as much basketball as maybe i can handle, but i'm watching the second half of the day in a norfolk state tee cheering for lehigh and i set up a side by side tasting of JP and oud beersel (to be followed by la roja and ichtegems). i am slightly sober, but my slighted side is amazed. JP is really really good. does anyone else have the sneaking suspicion that all that money spent on belgian beer could have been better spent on pornography? Yes the beersel has more mouth, malt and complexity- but the weizen bam has better sour explosion on the tongue, bubble up, and clarity. the beersel is good till 2030- so i'm not sure which to cellar...

well- the consensus is that the roja is way too oakeeeey - one out of two or three aint bad. i can't believe ichtegems beat something...
