Hey all! I'm brewing a hefe tonight, and I realized I forgot the rice hulls, so I'm concerned about a stuck sparge. I did some brainstorming and came up with an idea.

I've got a cooler mash tun with a false bottom. I also have a giant grain bag that would fit all the grain easily. What if I did a traditional all-grain mash with batch sparging, but kept the grain in a bag? Then if I ran into problems, I could pick up the bag and give it a bit of a shake to "loosen" things up. Or is that not really how stuck sparges work?

Thoughts?

I've done 100% rye that way with no issue and people have done 100% wheat that way as well so should be good
