marking sight tube

I just got a sight gage kit from bargain fittings for my Hlt. Anyone have any tips on marking this so it stays around?

I ordered a set of them from Bobby about a month or so ago. I am verry happy... does the job.

I used a small triangular file to put small notches in the tube, then put a small tie-wrap around the tube at each gallon mark. If the tie-wraps accidentally get moved, they can be put back in position on the notches. I suppose if you wanted to you could color code the tie-wraps with paint or ink for different levels, or just mark every even numbered gallon, or whatever.
