I am in Europe and picked up some maple syrup to add to the boil in my next batch. I know that you're supposed to use Grade B maple syrup in brewing because it has more impurities/flavor, but there's no indication on this stuff I have and I don't know how to find out. If it's not Grade B, will it pretty much be like regular sugar? What's the practical difference?

Price may be a guide. So is color. Grade B is generally a bit darker.

What are you planning to do with it?
