I read a bit of the converted cooler info in the brew wiki above. Great info in there but I had a quick manifold question.

They show a copper version for the rectangular and a SS braided version for the round bottom.

What about a PVC version of the rectangular or square? Would it be sanitary enough and be considered food grade or is there a specific type of PVC that should be used?
 
CPVC is rated for hotter water. Up to like 180 or something. PVC is rated only up to about 130 degrees or something like that. Make sure you get CPVC. Or copper if you're all kinds of rich. :)
 
I have read in a few different places that copper has anti-bacterial properties. IF you can't afford copper or SS....I would say CPVC also.
