I recently came across this gem: 1/2" NPT Quick Clean Take-Apart Ball Valve. I just purchased my 44qt. Bayou Classic SS kettle and am wanting to add a ball valve, specifically the one above, for easy cleaning. Before I pull the trigger and purchase it and try to find a way to rig it up myself...anyone have any tried and true method to this? Or advice?

Depend on which weldless bulkhead you're using. If it's one with a long 1/2" threaded nipple with gaskets, washers and nuts to hold it to the kettle, then you can thread this right onto it.

If the weldless bulkhead adds an NPT threaded coupling onto the kettle then you'll need a 1/2" stainless nipple similar to this to attach the ball valve to it: http://www.brewershardware.com/1-2-MPT-Hex-Nipple.html

Thanks for the reply, would one of these work?

What is the valve for? Drain on a brew kettle?

If so, then yes as it will also allow you to install a pick up tube on the inside since it has a compression fitting as well.

I just received two of these and two of the bulkheads. These are awesome products. They mount up easy and tight. Not a single hint of a leak.

Worth every penny I believe.
