I'm crazy excited about this film. I REALLY want to take my daughter to see it tonight, but she has an after-school event called Electronic Gaming Group until midnight (It's sometimes an all-nighter, but due to schedule conflicts it's a short night this time.)

I'll probably try to see it tomorrow evening with her and another friend.

It's been tearing up the reviews. We just saw the original mad Max and The Road Warrior this past weekend and I simply cannot wait to see the awesome action sequences, dystopian wasteland, and a rolling flood of mutant vehicles!

Me too. Can't decide if I want to see it in theaters or just wait for DVD.

My 9 year old is the one who actually clued me in on the remake. he said "DADDY, DADDY, DADDY LOOK! They made Borderlands into a MOVIE!"

I can't decide if I want to see it in 3D or just digital first.

Maybe just plain the first time and 3D the second time.

It takes me about 5-10 minutes to get used to it, but after that I'm fine. My wife has problems with it so if she goes with us to the movies I don't get to watch in 3D.

By about midway I start getting fatigued from the somewhat off focus "blurriness" through the glasses. Then the glasses start to irritate my bridge. And then the headache starts to set it.

I honestly don't know why we keep going 3D.

The last one was Avengers. the only redeeming value that night had was that we had the entire theater to ourselves. At a 7:00pm showing. It was weird.

Saw Charlize Theron on the Tonight Show the other night and the clip they showed looked pretty sweet. She said they did most of their own stunts rather than computerized. I'm a big Mad Max fan and really looking forward to seeing this on the big screen.

Yeah, I've heard that about the stunts many times. I'm excited because the one thing I hate is when they digitize what could have been a relatively simple action shot instead of shooting it for real, and they effect is obviously fake.

I fully expect there will be moments in the film where you can tell, but I hope they are few and far between, and I hope to see plenty of stunts that appear real.

There are effect companies out there that can do amazing things with mechanical CGI models. Human and animal models still have a way's to go, but are improving constantly.

In a trailer I see people swinging back and forth on tall poles between cars. I think those must be digital because I think the weight of a human using the leverage of those very tall poles would be enough to flip a car over. I don't have the math skills to figure it out, though.

I grew up watching the Mad Max movies. The Road Warrior is still one of my favorites. I even loved Beyond the Thunderdome, in all it's campy glory.

Naturally, I have mixed feelings about seeing the reboot/remake/whatever this is.

Y'all let me know if it's worth seeing or not. ;)

I have the set of movies & wanna see this one. Some said it was after The Road Warrior? I thought it was Max finally trying to make it home at last? Interesting that hue-keys-berne is the bad guy in this one...

You BETTER NOT BE disappointed!

It was action packed. It had car chases. (Most of the movie was car chases)

I understand how the pole cats stunt works now after seeing them in better detail. Pretty cool.

There was still a bit too much CGI for my taste, but for the most part it did not detract and there were plenty of real action shots.

Vehicles and costumes were SO BAD-ASS!

Dialogue was "light". If you want quotes from the movie, you could probably remember the 5 lines easily.

If I had to compare with the original movies, I'd say it sits right along side The Road Warrior in my list. Then Thunderdome. Then Mad Max. Still have to watch Thunderdome with the kid.

What I found interesting was that Mad Max was not the focal point in the movie. I'd heard that, but actually seeing Imperator Furiosa getting most of the attention was refreshing.

Loved seeing Toe-Cutter as the main bad guy, Immortan Joe. There are several other unique bad guys in the chase.

War Rigs are really sweet machines. I'd LOVE to see some of these vehicles up close. But, you know, before they are all totally devastated in the movie...

Did you by any chance catch the 3d/iMax version?

No. I would have seen it, but another person who went with us does nto do well with the 3D.

I can say that I think it would be a good 3D movie.

I'm fine either way. I think parts of a movie tends to be out of focus in 3D, especially early in the film. It gets better as your eyes adjust.

I'd be willing to see it again.

I love the original Mad Max. As a movie fanatic, this is one I watched a lot with my dad when I was younger (along with every western there was). My biggest complaint about movies today are that many are remakes. Even with better special effects now, there is just something about the original that keeps its nostalgia. With that said, I am a solid Tom Hardy fan, so this is one movie I want to see (dont make it to the theatre much). Wife said she wouldnt go, looks stupid.

I'm actually not a fan of Hardy in this. He does the job, but his entire acting repertoire involves scowling a bit and muttering once in a while. I think almost ANYONE could have pulled this off.

But Imperator Furiosa is the real lead character this time, and Max makes a nice companion piece to her story.

I'm ready to watch it again. We watched Thunderdome day before yesterday and I remembered how cheesy it could be in spots. It was actually better than I remembered, though.

"Ain't we a pair, Raggedy Man?"

Ha. I liked master-blaster too. "Us hurt bad auntie! Us want justice! We want thunderdome"!

Thunderdome ruined it for me.

I thought it was cool that blaster turned out to be his retarded brother in law! I always thought the bil went out into the wastelands looking for max? The camera panning in on his face was a real OMG moment.
