Looking for my first home brew

I'm about ready to start home brewing, hooray! I inherited a dusty old 6 gal. equipment kit and need to get a few pieces to complete it, so while I'm there I'm thinking about what kit I can pickup at my local HB store. No carboy, just primary plus bottling bucket. I'm probably going to skip lagers since I don't have a cellar or adequate refrigeration, so I'm looking at ales. What ale kit would you recommend for a newbie?
