Recently, my lady and I had Sea Dog Old East India IPA. She LOVED it and wants me to brew up something similar. I did some recipe searching around HBT but couldn't find anything that fit the bill. Does anyone have access to a solid recipe or the knowledge to create one? It was amber colored and hoppy (obviously) but the aftertaste very quickly changed from hoppy to sweet which was the characteristic she liked. There wasn't a lot of lingering bitterness. I'm thinking that perhaps light early-boil hopping and heavier late-boil hopping might accomplish this, but I'm new and just guessing.

On an unrelated topic, do banana IPAs taste as good as the idea sounds to me? It seems like an excellent idea.
