looking for a good pumpkin ale recipe

ok so ive got a bunch of pumpkin guts, and i figured i should try making some pumpkin ale, and i was wondering if any of you guys good pumpkin recipe, or if there is a favorite recipe on this forum?

here is one that I tried and it was great. When you say pumpkin guts do you mean the stringy stuff with the seeds in it? If so you might not want to use that. most people use the pumpkin meat. I used canned pumpkin.

hmm i didnt know that, im glad you told me, would i be better off getting another pumpkin or just buying canned pumpkins?

I also did the thunderstruck it was awesome and a big hit so much so that I was out in 2weeks and just re-brewed this last week.
Canned pumpkin is perfect as long as you can find it there were some issues in some parts of the continent due to a pumpkin shortage. 2 large cans work perfectly for a 5 gallon batch.

Something else to note, if you do use fresh pumpkin, DO NOT use a carving pumpkin.

Buy a pie pumpkin instead, they taste better.

i've used carving pumpkins in the past, taste just fine.

pie pumpkins are sweeter for pies :shrug:
