I have some in-laws coming in a few months and am looking for a good darker beer (altbier maybe??) or perhaps a solid American amber that has a nice mellow caramel flavor that is around 6-7%.

Right now, most of my beers are at or around 5%, and I have been getting most all of my recipe's from here so I thought I would ask if any of you have a good recipe I could use.

A good Oktoberfest ale would work if it is a little higher in ABV.

I can share one of mine that seems to go down well. I use a 12% dose of C80, but it comes across raisiny rather than sweet.

AMBER ALE:
75% MO (or domestic 2 Row)
12% C80
10% Wheat
3% Melanoidin
Warrior @ 60 to 15 IBU
Centennial @ 10 & 0 to 30 IBU (total)
US-05

I brew it to 5.5% but you can easily scale it up to 6 or 7%.
