Longevity of star san

After brewing i always have a bucket of sanitizer left over. How long will a bucket of star San continue to act as sanitizer?

I'm pretty sure its good as long as the pH is <= 3. You can probably pick up test strips at your LHBS.

The guys over at www.basicbrewing.com interviewed people from the makers of both Star san, and the makers of Iodofor back in 2007. It's worth a listen, they talk a lot about contact time, dilution and storage.
They address this exact issue.

I use PH strips to check as well. Based on that test mine lasts longer than 3weeks.

next time, mix it with distilled water and it will last indefinitely.
