I usually mash for 1 hour and sometimes for 75 min depending on what BeerSmith tells me. Last week I had to go 90 min to hit my pre-boil estimate. Double crushed as usual from the same shop but the grain has been sitting around for about 2 months in a plastic bag sealed w/a baggie tie. Wonder if that had anything to do w/it.
Did the normal 1 hr boil and hit my OG on the head so I'm happy. The extra mash time gave me a chance to cut up some veggies and cook them in a slow cooker.
