I brewed my first batch yesterday, stuck in it a bucket fermentor, and it is now in a swamp cooler. The air lock was bubbling ever 2 seconds this morning.
I placed a liquid crystal thermometer on the bucket. It is above the water line in my swamp cooler but obviously below the line of the wort inside the bucket. I have a wet towel over the bucket but it should not really be coming in contact with the thermometer.
Now the question. Is the temp reading of the liquid crystal thermometer that of the interior of the bucket or the exterior? It has been hovering around 68.
BTW I did the Autumn Amber Ale from midwest with muntons dry yeast.
