Hey all. I had started brewing using propane burners on a steel brewstand using keggles. Worked great, but have since went all electric, and larger kettles. Im looking to perhaps build a new wooden stand with full top. Is there a poly that will withstand the temps that would be encountered under boiling kettles without leaving a sticky melted mess?

What I'm seeing is a 225°F limit for polyurethane in general. Not a lot of margin there if you're resting your BK on your benchtop.
Consider cladding the top surface?
1/8" formica would work - as long as you don't dry-fire a kettle  I love Federal Blue, very handsome.
Or, tile. You could do an impressive and functional deck out of tile pretty easily and have a truly durable surface...

Cheers!
